HENDERSON, Nev. — Feb. 21, 2026 — The College of Southern Nevada was limited to four hits as the College of Southern Idaho completed a 9–0 win Saturday morning at Lady Coyote Field in the final game of the three-game series.
Southern Idaho jumped in front right away in the top of the first. A leadoff hit and a stolen base set the table, and the Golden Eagles cashed in with an RBI double followed by an RBI single to take a 2–0 lead.
CSN threatened in the second inning when Destinee Lopez drew a walk and advanced to third on Haley Horst's double to right field, but the Lady Coyotes were unable to bring the runner home.
Southern Idaho added separation in the third inning. A bunt single and another stolen base sparked the rally before a run-scoring triple and an RBI single made it 4–0. An RBI single later in the frame extended the advantage to 5–0.
The Golden Eagles broke the game open in the fourth, plating four more runs. A run scored on a fielder's choice, another on a sacrifice fly, and a two-run triple pushed the margin to 9–0.
CSN put runners aboard again in the fourth after Lopez worked her second walk and Mariela Rodriguez singled to center field, but Southern Idaho escaped without damage. In the fifth, Jimena Barraza-Caro tripled to left field to put a runner 60 feet away, but the Lady Coyotes were kept off the scoreboard.
Barraza-Caro paced CSN offensively with two hits, including the triple. Horst added the double, and Rodriguez accounted for the other hit.
In the circle, Haylee Holloway went the distance for CSN, working five innings. Southern Idaho starter M. Mauger threw a five-inning shutout, allowing four hits while issuing three walks.
Up next: CSN returns home next weekend for a four-game set against Utah State University Eastern, beginning with a doubleheader on Friday, Feb. 27 (12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.), followed by two games on Saturday, Feb. 28 (11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.) at Lady Coyote Field.
