PRESCOTT, Ariz. — Feb. 27, 2026 — The College of Southern Nevada completed a doubleheader sweep Friday afternoon, defeating Yavapai College 10–6 in Game Two of the three-game ACCAC series at Roughrider Park.
With the win, the Coyotes improved to 17–3 overall and 2–0 in conference play.
After three scoreless innings, CSN broke through in the fourth. Alex Rhynes reached and later came around to score as the Coyotes manufactured a run to take a 1–0 lead.
The offense erupted in the fifth inning. Rhynes delivered a two-run home run to left field, and Grant Smith followed with a two-run double. Evan Festa added an RBI single during the rally as CSN pushed its advantage to 5–2.
Yavapai trimmed the lead in the bottom half of the fourth and again in the seventh, but the Coyotes continued to answer. Festa finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs, while Smith drove in two runs and collected a pair of hits. Brandon Swanson added an RBI, and Jeffrey Peters III contributed with a sacrifice fly and two RBIs.
Rhynes paced the offense, scoring three runs, stealing two bases and driving in two with his home run. Jake Gorrell also had a productive afternoon, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and scoring twice.
On the mound, Christopher Wrench earned the win, tossing five innings and allowing just two runs while striking out five. Andrew Kaplan worked 2.1 innings in relief, and Benjamin Schroeder closed the door late to secure the victory.
