HENDERSON, Nev. — March 14, 2026 — The College of Southern Nevada erupted for 12 runs and held off Arizona Western College for a 12–8 victory in game three of the ACCAC series Saturday morning at Lady Coyote Field.
Arizona Western jumped out to an early lead in the first inning. After a pair of hit batters and a single loaded the bases, Larissa Rueda drove in a run with a sacrifice fly before Riley Purdy followed with an RBI single to give the Matadors a 2–0 advantage.
The Lady Coyotes answered immediately in the bottom of the first with a four-run rally. Jaydah Chun singled to start the inning and advanced on a sacrifice bunt by Breya Hee. Chloe Tepraseuth then delivered an RBI double to score Chun. Moments later, Destinee Lopez singled and advanced on an outfield error to bring Tepraseuth home. Ciana Cubi followed with an RBI single, and Athena Tonga'onevai reached on an error that allowed Cubi to score and push CSN ahead 4–2.
Arizona Western cut the deficit to 4–3 in the third inning when Purdy singled to center field to score Analy Trejo.
The Lady Coyotes responded in the bottom of the third. After Tepraseuth reached base, Mattingly Mauzey singled and later stole second. Tonga'onevai followed with a two-run single to extend the CSN lead to 6–3.
The Matadors tied the game in the fourth inning when Trejo hit a three-run home run to even the score at 6–6.
CSN regained control in the bottom of the fourth. Chun drew a walk and Hee reached on a fielder's choice before Tepraseuth doubled to right field to score Hee. Lopez followed with an RBI single to bring Tepraseuth home and give the Lady Coyotes an 8–6 lead.
Arizona Western trimmed the deficit to one run in the sixth inning when Alana McDonnell hit a solo home run, making it 8–7.
The Lady Coyotes broke the game open in the bottom of the sixth with a four-run inning. Hee drew a walk before Tepraseuth singled. Lopez reached on an error that allowed Hee to score, and a pair of wild pitches brought another run across the plate. Cubi then added an RBI single, and Ellie Leatham reached on an error that allowed the fourth run of the inning to score, extending the lead to 12–7.
Arizona Western added one run in the seventh on an RBI fielder's choice, but CSN held on to secure the win.
Tepraseuth led the Lady Coyotes offensively with three hits and two RBIs, while Cubi added two hits and two RBIs. Mauzey collected two hits and scored a run, and Tonga'onevai drove in two runs in the victory.
In the circle, Brooklynn Richardson started for CSN and allowed six runs over 3.2 innings. Callie Averett earned the win in relief, tossing 2.1 innings and allowing two runs while striking out one. Haley Horst recorded the final three outs to secure the victory.
With the win, the Lady Coyotes improve to 16–11 overall and 5–2 in ACCAC play.
The four-game ACCAC series between the Lady Coyotes and Arizona Western will conclude later Saturday afternoon at Lady Coyote Field.
