PRESCOTT, Ariz. — March 20, 2026 — The College of Southern Nevada capped a dominant opening day of its ACCAC road series with a 13–2 victory over Yavapai College in game two of Friday's doubleheader.
The Lady Coyotes wasted no time setting the tone, scoring in the opening inning before erupting for five runs in the second and four more in the third to take complete control of the game.
After Yavapai answered CSN's first-inning run to tie the game at 1–1, the Lady Coyotes responded with a decisive second inning. CSN capitalized on timely hitting and defensive miscues to plate five runs and build a 6–1 advantage.
The Coyotes continued to pour it on in the third inning, adding four more runs to extend the lead to 10–1. CSN tacked on three additional runs in the fourth inning to push the margin to 13–1 and effectively put the game out of reach.
CSN finished with 11 hits in the contest. Ciana Cubi led the offense with two hits and two RBIs, while Destinee Lopez went 2-for-2 with a double and drove in three runs. Mariela Rodriguez added two hits, including a double, scored three times, and drove in a run.
Breya Hee provided a spark at the top of the lineup, scoring three runs and collecting two hits, while Mattingly Mauzey contributed an RBI and worked a key sacrifice during the rally. Ellie Leatham added a hit, and Reggi Frei recorded a hit and scored twice as the Coyotes produced throughout the lineup.
In the circle, Brooklynn Richardson earned the win, tossing five innings and allowing two runs on six hits while striking out three. According to the box score, Richardson limited Yavapai to two runs on six hits over five innings to secure the victory.
Yavapai plated a run in the first inning and added another in the fifth, but the Roughriders were unable to slow down the Coyotes' offensive surge.
With the win, CSN improves to 19–11 overall and 8–2 in ACCAC play, completing a doubleheader sweep to open the four-game series.
The Lady Coyotes and Roughriders will conclude the series Saturday with a doubleheader in Prescott.
