Cochise Tops Coyotes 3–0 in Game Two of Series

HENDERSON, Nev. — March 6, 2026 — The College of Southern Nevada Coyotes were limited to three hits Friday evening as Cochise College earned a 3–0 victory in Game Two of the ACCAC series at Lied Field | Morse Stadium.

The loss moved CSN to 19–4 overall and 4–1 in conference play.

Both teams traded scoreless innings early as starting pitchers controlled the game through the middle frames. Christopher Wrench delivered a strong start for the Coyotes, working five scoreless innings while allowing four hits and striking out five.

CSN threatened in the fourth inning when Alex Rhynes singled and Brandon Swanson reached on a fielder's choice, but Cochise starter Austin Cushman escaped the inning. Cushman proved dominant throughout the night, tossing a complete-game shutout with 12 strikeouts.

The Apaches broke through in the seventh inning. After a walk and another free pass put two runners on, Cesar Chavira lined a double to left-center field that scored both runners and gave Cochise a 2–0 lead.

Cochise added an insurance run in the ninth inning when Chavira doubled down the right-field line to drive in Anthony Montez, extending the advantage to 3–0.

The Coyotes' three hits came from Alex Rhynes, Jake Gorrell, and Jase DeSantis, but CSN was unable to generate additional offense.

Out of the bullpen, Mayson Reichartz worked a scoreless sixth inning with two strikeouts. Boston Jensen was charged with the loss after allowing two runs in the seventh inning. Evan Festa recorded four strikeouts over 1.2 innings of relief, and Tee Southisene allowed one run in the ninth.

The Coyotes and Apaches will conclude the three-game series Saturday at Lied Field | Morse Stadium. First pitch for the series finale is scheduled for 12:00 p.m.. Full schedule and coverage information can be found at www.csncoyotes.com
