COOLIDGE, Ariz. — March 7, 2026 — The College of Southern Nevada closed out its ACCAC-opening series in strong fashion Saturday afternoon, shutting out Central Arizona College 4–0 to win the four-game set at Central Arizona.
The Lady Coyotes struck first in the opening inning. Mattingly Mauzey singled and stole second before Chloe Tepraseuth drove her home with an RBI single to give CSN an early 1–0 advantage.
CSN added to the lead in the third inning. Mauzey again reached base with a single and moved into scoring position before Destinee Lopez delivered an RBI single to center field, extending the Lady Coyotes' lead to 2–0.
The Coyotes pushed across another run in the fourth inning. Athena Tonga'onevai reached base and advanced into scoring position before coming home on a sacrifice fly from Jaydah Chun, making it 3–0.
CSN added an insurance run in the seventh inning. Ellie Leatham drew a walk and Mariela Rodriguez entered as a pinch runner. After Rodriguez moved into scoring position, Justice Lavin delivered an RBI single to bring her home and extend the lead to 4–0.
That was more than enough support for Haylee Holloway, who turned in a dominant performance in the circle. Holloway tossed a complete-game shutout, allowing just five hits while striking out three and not issuing a walk over seven innings. The right-hander kept Central Arizona off the scoreboard throughout the afternoon and worked out of the few scoring threats the Vaqueros generated.
Offensively, Mauzey led the Lady Coyotes with two hits and two stolen bases, setting the tone at the top of the lineup. Tepraseuth, Lopez, Lavin, Tonga'onevai and Reggi Frei each added hits as CSN collected eight hits in the victory.
With the win, the Lady Coyotes improve to 14–10 overall and 3–1 in ACCAC play.
CSN will return home next weekend to continue conference play, hosting Arizona Western College in a four-game ACCAC series at Lady Coyote Field.
