COOLIDGE, Ariz. — March 7, 2026 — The College of Southern Nevada responded after falling behind early, rallying for a 10–7 victory over Central Arizona College in game three of the four-game ACCAC series Saturday morning.
Central Arizona struck first with three runs in the bottom of the first inning. The Vaqueros opened the frame with a double and followed with back-to-back run-scoring hits before adding a sacrifice fly to take a 3–0 lead.
The Lady Coyotes began chipping away in the second inning. Mattingly Mauzey singled to lead off the frame before Ciana Cubi reached on a fielder's choice. With two outs, Justice Lavin delivered an RBI single to bring home Cubi and cut the deficit to 3–1.
CSN took control in the third inning with a four-run rally. Jimena Barraza-Caro reached on an error and later advanced to second on a stolen base. Ellie Leatham followed with an RBI single to bring home Barraza-Caro. Mauzey singled to continue the rally before Cubi drove in another run with a single. Lavin drew a walk to load the bases and Breya Hee worked a bases-loaded walk to plate another run. Jaydah Chun then reached on a fielder's choice that allowed Cubi to score, giving the Lady Coyotes a 5–3 lead.
Central Arizona answered in the bottom of the third with two runs on a pair of hits to tie the game at 5–5.
The Lady Coyotes regained the lead in the fourth inning. Chloe Tepraseuth doubled and later scored on a sacrifice fly from Destinee Lopez, putting CSN back in front 6–5.
CSN extended the advantage in the fifth inning. Cubi singled and Mariela Rodriguez entered as a pinch runner before Lavin singled to put two runners aboard. Chun delivered an RBI single to score Rodriguez, and Tepraseuth followed with a two-run single to extend the lead to 9–5.
The Coyotes added another run in the sixth inning when Athena Tonga'onevai singled and eventually scored on a sacrifice fly by Lavin, pushing the margin to 10–5.
Central Arizona scored twice in the bottom of the seventh inning but could not complete the comeback.
CSN finished with 12 hits in the contest. Mauzey led the offense with three hits, while Cubi and Lavin each collected two hits. Tepraseuth drove in two runs and Chun added an RBI as the Coyotes produced offense throughout the lineup.
In the circle, Haley Horst started and allowed five runs over three innings. Callie Averett entered in relief and earned the win, working four innings and allowing two runs while striking out one.
With the victory, the Lady Coyotes improve to 13–10 overall and 2–1 in ACCAC play.
The four-game series between CSN and Central Arizona will conclude later Saturday afternoon in Coolidge.
