DOUGLAS, Ariz. — April 10, 2026 — The No. 13 College of Southern Nevada Coyotes opened a key ACCAC road series with a strong all-around performance, defeating No. 12 Cochise College, 7–1, Friday afternoon.
With the victory, CSN improved to 30–7 overall and 15–4 in ACCAC play.
After a scoreless first two innings, the Coyotes broke through in the third. Caden Kirby helped spark the rally before Harvey Smerdon delivered a key hit to drive in runs and give CSN a 2–0 lead.
Cochise answered with a run to cut the deficit to 2–1, but CSN quickly regained control.
The Coyotes created separation in the fifth inning with a decisive four-run rally. Jake Gorrell delivered a run-scoring double, while Harvey Smerdon and Brandon Swanson each drove in runs as CSN extended its lead to 6–1.
CSN added an insurance run in the seventh inning to push the advantage to 7–1.
Smerdon led the Coyotes offensively, finishing 2-for-4 with three RBIs, while Swanson went 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Gorrell added two hits and two RBIs, and Kirby scored twice as CSN totaled eight hits in the contest.
On the mound, James Bradford improved to 7–0, allowing one run on seven hits over 4.2 innings while striking out three. Benjamin Schroeder followed with 1.1 scoreless innings, and Dominic Ostolaza closed the game with a scoreless final inning to secure the win.
