HENDERSON, Nev. — April 11, 2026 — The College of Southern Nevada came up just short in a back-and-forth battle, falling 10–9 to Central Arizona College in game three of the ACCAC series Saturday morning at Lady Coyote Field.
CSN struck first in the opening inning. Reggi Frei singled to lead off the game and later scored on a throwing error following a bunt single from Jaydah Chun. Chun then came home on a sacrifice fly by Chloe Tepraseuth, giving the Lady Coyotes a 2–0 lead.
Central Arizona answered in the second inning with a sacrifice fly to cut the lead to 2–1, but CSN responded in the bottom half. Justice Lavin singled and later scored on a wild pitch after advancing on a sacrifice bunt from Mattingly Mauzey, extending the lead to 3–1.
The Vaqueros took control in the third inning, scoring three runs highlighted by a two-run triple from LuLu Erkal to move ahead 4–3.
CSN answered right back in the bottom of the third. Tepraseuth singled and later scored, and Lavin delivered a two-run single to give the Lady Coyotes a 5–4 lead.
Central Arizona regained the lead in the fourth inning with two runs on three hits, making it 6–5.
The Lady Coyotes responded with one of their strongest innings of the game in the bottom of the fourth. Tepraseuth singled and Ellie Leatham followed with an RBI double to tie the game. Payten Benson then doubled to bring home Leatham, and Lavin added another RBI double to extend the lead to 8–6.
The momentum shifted again in the fifth inning. Central Arizona plated three runs, highlighted by a two-run triple and an RBI double, to regain a 9–8 advantage.
The Vaqueros added an insurance run in the sixth inning on a sacrifice fly, pushing the lead to 10–8.
CSN mounted a final push in the seventh. Lavin doubled and Jimena Barraza-Caro entered as a pinch runner, advancing to third on a groundout. Ciana Cubi delivered an RBI single to cut the deficit to 10–9, but the Lady Coyotes were unable to complete the comeback.
CSN finished with 13 hits in the contest. Lavin led the offense with four hits and three RBIs, while Tepraseuth added two hits and drove in a run. Leatham and Benson each recorded RBI doubles, and Frei, Chun, and Cubi each contributed hits in the effort.
In the circle, Haylee Holloway started and allowed six runs over four innings. Callie Averett took the loss after allowing three runs in one inning of relief, and Brooklynn Richardson closed out the final two innings.
Central Arizona totaled 10 runs on 16 hits, while CSN recorded nine runs on 13 hits in the loss.
With the result, the Lady Coyotes move to 24–15 overall and 13–6 in ACCAC play.
The four-game ACCAC series will conclude later Saturday afternoon at Lady Coyote Field.
