HENDERSON, Nev. — April 24, 2026 — The No. 11 College of Southern Nevada Coyotes used a balanced offensive attack and strong pitching to defeat No. 17 Arizona Western College, 10–4, Friday evening in Game Two of the ACCAC series at Lied Field | Morse Stadium.
With the victory, CSN improved to 35–9 overall and 20–6 in ACCAC play, securing the series win.
CSN struck first in the second inning. Carson Anderson reached on an error and moved into scoring position before Jeffrey Peters III drove him in with an RBI fielder's choice to give the Coyotes a 1–0 lead.
The Coyotes extended the advantage in the third inning. Caden Kirby reached base and advanced before Evan Festa delivered a clutch RBI triple to center field. Festa later scored on a balk, pushing the lead to 3–0.
CSN continued to build momentum in the fourth. Peters III doubled to left field and Jase DeSantis followed with an RBI single, extending the lead to 4–0.
Arizona Western responded in the sixth inning, using a double from Elias Huber and a two-run home run by Dan Kawanishi to cut the deficit to 6–3.
The Coyotes answered immediately in the bottom half of the sixth. Kirby singled and used aggressive baserunning to steal both second and third before scoring on a sacrifice fly by Harvey Smerdon, extending the lead to 7–3.
CSN added insurance in the eighth inning with a three-run rally. Kirby worked a walk and later scored on a wild pitch, Festa reached and advanced on an error, and Brandon Swanson delivered an RBI double. Jackson Rieckmann followed with an RBI single to cap the scoring and push the lead to 10–4.
Festa led the Coyotes offensively with a standout performance, going 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI, while Kirby scored three runs and swiped three bases. Swanson added two hits and an RBI, and Peters III chipped in with a double and an RBI as CSN totaled 10 hits.
On the mound, Christopher Wrench earned the win to improve to 5–3, allowing three runs on six hits over six innings while striking out 11. Benjamin Schroeder and Mayson Reichartz combined to bridge the late innings, and Andrew Kaplan closed out the game to secure the victory.
The Coyotes and Matadors will conclude the three-game ACCAC series Saturday at Lied Field | Morse Stadium, with first pitch scheduled for 12:00 p.m..
