HENDERSON, Nev. — April 25, 2026 — The No. 11 College of Southern Nevada Coyotes fell in the final game of the ACCAC series to No. 17 Arizona Western College, 19–4, Saturday afternoon at Lied Field | Morse Stadium.
With the result, CSN moved to 35–10 overall and 20–7 in ACCAC play.
Arizona Western struck first in the opening inning, taking advantage of a leadoff double by Parker Husu and an RBI single from Elias Huber to take a 1–0 lead.
The Coyotes answered immediately in the bottom half. Caden Kirby tripled to lead off the inning and scored on an RBI single by Harvey Smerdon, tying the game at 1–1.
The game shifted in the second inning when Arizona Western erupted for five runs. The Matadors capitalized on traffic on the bases before Ten Shindo delivered a grand slam to give Arizona Western a 6–1 advantage.
Arizona Western continued to build its lead in the fourth inning. A two-run double from Luis Angulo and a defensive miscue pushed the advantage to 9–1.
CSN responded in the bottom of the fourth with its most productive inning of the day. Joseph Randazzo singled and Jake Gorrell added a base hit to set the table before Jeffrey Peters III delivered a two-run double down the left-field line. Moments later, Gehrig Pineda singled and Peters III scored on a wild pitch, trimming the deficit to 9–4.
The Matadors answered emphatically over the next two innings. Arizona Western scored three runs in the fifth, highlighted by a two-run home run from Shindo and a solo home run from Gerardo Castro to extend the lead to 12–4.
The sixth inning put the game out of reach. Arizona Western plated seven runs on a combination of walks and timely extra-base hits, including a three-run triple from Shindo and a three-run home run from Luis Acosta, stretching the lead to 19–4.
Kirby led the Coyotes offensively with a triple and a run scored, while Smerdon collected two hits and an RBI. Peters III added a two-run double as CSN finished with eight hits.
On the mound, Tee Southisene was charged with the loss after allowing six runs over two innings. The Coyotes used multiple arms in relief, including Tyler Kennedy, Kekoa Young, Boston Jensen, Mayson Reichartz, and Dylan Franco, to finish the game.
The Coyotes will wrap up the regular season next weekend on the road as they travel to Thatcher, Arizona to face Eastern Arizona College in a three-game ACCAC series beginning Friday, May 1. Full schedule and coverage information can be found at www.csncoyotes.com.
