HENDERSON, Nev. — April 24, 2026 — The College of Southern Nevada used a pair of explosive innings to rally past Yavapai College for a 10–5 victory in the opening game of a four-game ACCAC series Friday afternoon at Lady Coyote Field.
CSN improved to 28–17 overall and 17–8 in ACCAC play with the win.
The Lady Coyotes struck first in the bottom of the opening inning. Jaydah Chun worked a walk and moved into scoring position before Chloe Tepraseuth delivered an RBI single. Chun came around to score on a Yavapai throwing error, giving CSN an early 1–0 lead.
Yavapai answered with a big third inning, plating five runs on five hits to take a 5–1 advantage. The Roughriders strung together timely hits, including a two-run double and a two-run single, to seize momentum midway through the game.
The Lady Coyotes responded immediately in the bottom half of the third with a four-run rally to even the score. Mariela Rodriguez doubled to start the inning, and Breya Hee followed with a single to put runners on the corners. Chun lifted a sacrifice fly to bring home Rodriguez, and Reggi Frei delivered an RBI double to score Hee. Tepraseuth followed with a run-scoring double, and Ellie Leatham capped the inning with another RBI double to tie the game at 5–5.
CSN took control in the fourth inning. Hee singled and advanced before Chun laid down a sacrifice bunt. Frei followed with a base hit, setting the stage for Tepraseuth, who launched a three-run home run to center field to give the Lady Coyotes an 8–5 lead.
The Coyotes continued to add on in the fifth inning. Mattingly Mauzey reached base and advanced before Chun delivered an RBI single to extend the lead to 9–5.
CSN added its final run in the sixth inning when Tepraseuth doubled and later scored on a passed ball, pushing the advantage to 10–5.
Tepraseuth led the offensive effort with a dominant performance, going 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, and five RBIs. Frei added two hits and an RBI, while Hee contributed two hits and scored twice. Leatham and Rodriguez each recorded doubles and RBIs as the Lady Coyotes totaled 12 hits in the game.
In the circle, Haylee Holloway started and allowed five runs over three innings. Brooklynn Richardson earned the win in relief, shutting down Yavapai over the final 3.2 innings. Richardson allowed just four hits and no runs while striking out four to secure the victory.
After surrendering the five-run third inning, the CSN pitching staff held Yavapai scoreless the rest of the way to complete the comeback.
The four-game ACCAC series continues later Friday afternoon at Lady Coyote Field with game two of the doubleheader.
