HENDERSON, Nev. — April 24, 2026 — The College of Southern Nevada continued its strong offensive showing Friday afternoon, defeating Yavapai College 10–2 in game two of the ACCAC doubleheader at Lady Coyote Field.
With the win, the Lady Coyotes improve to 29–17 overall and 18–8 in ACCAC play.
CSN wasted no time setting the tone, scoring three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Jimena Barraza-Caro singled and stole second before Reggi Frei drove her in with an RBI single. Chloe Tepraseuth followed with a base hit to move Frei to third, and Ellie Leatham added a sacrifice fly to score another run. Later in the inning, Mattingly Mauzey contributed a sacrifice fly to cap the early rally and give the Lady Coyotes a 3–0 lead.
Yavapai responded with two runs in the second inning, using a pair of RBI singles to cut the deficit to 3–2.
The Lady Coyotes answered immediately in the bottom of the second. Barraza-Caro reached base again and came around to score, while Frei and Tepraseuth helped set up another scoring opportunity. Leatham delivered her second sacrifice fly of the game, extending the lead to 4–2.
CSN broke the game open in the third inning with a five-run outburst. Breya Hee tripled to drive in a run, Barraza-Caro followed with an RBI double, and Frei added another RBI double. Tepraseuth worked a walk to keep the inning alive before Leatham delivered a two-run double to push the lead to 9–2.
The Lady Coyotes added one more run in the fourth inning. Mauzey reached base and later scored when Hee singled and advanced on a fielding error, extending the lead to 10–2.
CSN finished with 13 hits in the contest. Barraza-Caro led the way with a perfect 4-for-4 performance, scoring three runs and adding an RBI. Frei added three hits and two RBIs, while Hee recorded two hits, including a triple, and drove in two runs. Leatham drove in four runs without recording a hit, delivering three sacrifice flies and a two-run double. Tepraseuth reached base multiple times and helped fuel the offensive attack.
In the circle, Haley Horst earned the win, tossing a complete-game effort. Horst allowed two runs on eight hits while striking out five and walking two over five innings. Horst limited Yavapai to two runs on eight hits in the run-rule victory.
The Lady Coyotes controlled the game throughout, combining aggressive baserunning with timely hitting to secure the doubleheader sweep.
CSN and Yavapai will conclude the four-game ACCAC series Saturday at Lady Coyote Field with a doubleheader. Sophomore Day festivities are scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m., with first pitch set for 11:00 a.m.
