Tournament Rules
 
  • NCAA rules will apply
  • In case of weather or If we lose lighting during the last game, 5 innings will need to be complete to count as a regulation game per NCAA.
  • Protest will be decided by designated UIC
  • Flip for home team unless playing CSN and CSN is always home
  • Each team is responsible for keeping their own scorebook, unless playing CSN, CSN will be offical scorekeeper 
  • Each team provides new/used official NJCAA softballs per game
  • International tie breaker in the 8th inning
  • No refunds will be given for forfeits
  • NO FANS allowed at the fields
  • Bat checks will be 15 minutes prior to start of game behind the press box
  • Buses will need to park out in front on the B building. You may drop off at the curb and park in the parking lot.
  • Upon arrival, enter through the main gate of the field. All COVID screening paperwork will be no be collected prior to entering.
  • The team listed 1st on the schedule will be in the cages first. Upon arrival and COVID checkpoint, you will then go straight to cages. Proceeding with social distancing requirements. (30 min allotted time)
  • Then team listed 2nd on the schedule will be outside the gates stretching and throwing after COVID checkpoint.
  • All stretching and throwing must be done outside the park gates.
  • Please make sure to bring all COVID forms (attached)
  • Please make sure the COVID forms are filled out and temp checks are done upon arrival. You will not be allowed to enter the games without the forms.
  • Social distancing will be highly enforced in the dugout. Only 6 players allowed in dugout along with the coaches. You can utilize the stands or bullpen for the remainder of the team as long as they are 6 feet apart.
  • Please designate a COVID coach to make sure rules are being enforced.

COVID-19 Screening
  • Temperatures will be taken of all athletes upon arrival by the visiting team coaching staff before getting off the bus
    • Referee temperatures will be taken at the entrances
  • Athlete will not be allowed to enter if they have a temperature of ≥100.4°F or are symptomatic
  • Temperature will be recorded by the visiting team's coaching staff on the CSN COVID-19 Travel Party Screening and athlete will be instructed to wash their hands in the bathroom
  • The screening paperwork for the team must be completed upon arrival and handed at the entrance for the home athletic trainer to review
    • Limit of 3 athletes in the bathroom at one time
Masks
  • Athletes are required to wear masks over their face and nose when not participating in activity
  • Those on the bench are required to have masks covering their face until they are subbed in
    • Athletes are required to wear mask when off the field which includes the athletic training room, stands, and bathrooms
Spectator
  • Visiting and home team spectators will NOT be allowed.
 
Athletic Training Services
  • Visiting team will only be allowed ice, tape, and injury evaluation.
  • Email from their athletic trainer prior to game day will be needed before taping will be allowed.
Towels
  • Will not be provided to the athletes for their hands or to wipe off sweat. It is their responsibility to provide their own sweat towel for themselves.
Hydration
  • Each athlete will be REQUIRED to bring their own individualized and labeled bottles.
    • The athletic training staff will be responsible for refilling the athlete's water bottles to reduce contamination.
    • Athletic training staff will have 10-gallon water jugs on the side of each dugout (or in the center concourse at Stephanie Lynn Craig) with an athletic trainer or athletic training student dispensing water in their water bottles. There will only be 1 person allowed to dispense the water to limit contact with the water dispenser.
    • If an athlete arrives to practice or competition without a water bottle, they will be provided a water cup.
Sportsmanship
  • Any physical interaction outside of play such as high fiving, fist bumping, and hugs will not be allowed
    • Athletes will be spaced 6 ft. apart on the bench to maintain social distancing
