College of Southern Nevada Coyotes

Phillip McGovern is an assistant coach with the College of Southern Nevada men’s-and-women’s soccer teams. A former player himself, he has most recently played in Romania with Steaua Bucharesti as a reserve.
 
A baseball player until transitioning into soccer in high school, McGovern eventually rose to playing as an all-state goalkeeper in a Southern California high school. He went on to play professionally in Costa Rica with Puntarenas FC and Saprissa FC.
 
A native of Newport Beach, Calif., McGovern is one of nine children.
