Tonishia Wilson enters her first season as an assistant coach for the College of Southern Nevada women's basketball program, bringing experience as a former NCAA Division I and professional basketball player, coach, and sports psychology professional.
Wilson competed collegiately at Boise State University and New Mexico State University before continuing her playing career professionally in Mexico and Spain. During her playing career, she was part of four conference championship teams and earned numerous honors, including ESPN four-star recruiting recognition and regional and state accolades.
Wilson began her coaching career at the high school level and later returned to Bishop Gorman High School as an assistant coach, helping the Gaels capture a state championship during the 2023-24 season. She went on to serve as head coach at Awaken Christian Academy, guiding the program to the Class 2A playoffs during the 2024-25 season.
In addition to her playing and coaching experience, Wilson has a background in sports psychology and mental performance. She earned a Master of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Sport Psychology from Capella University in 2026. She is also the founder of a mental performance business focused on helping athletes, performers, and coaches develop the mental skills needed to perform with confidence and consistency.
As an assistant coach with the Coyotes, Wilson brings a coaching philosophy centered on confidence, mental toughness, leadership, discipline, and resilience while helping CSN student-athletes develop academically, athletically, and personally.
