Coach Mellies graduated from Seattle University with a BS in Civil Engineering and a minor in Mathematics in 2011. There she was a four-year starter for the volleyball program. She was named as the conference’s Co-Freshman of the Year, Seattle University Female Athlete of the Year as a senior, and nominated for the NCAA Senior CLASS Award. She currently holds the individual record for Career Assists (4,137). Â
A Las Vegas native, Coach Mellies attended Silverado High School where she played basketball, soccer, and volleyball. In volleyball and soccer, she was 1st Team All-Conference her sophomore, junior, and senior years. In volleyball, she was named the Sunrise Region Most Valuable Player as a senior. She was awarded Silverado Female Athlete of the Year as a senior and graduated as a salutatorian.
Coach Mellies has been involved in the Vegas volleyball community since her return from Seattle coaching high school and club programs.Â
