Coach Q had a distinguished career as a player both as a prep, as well as club player.

A stando?ut outside hitter at Inglewood High, he was a 3-time Most Valuable Player and All-Ocean League First Team selection.  Coach Q also played for club with powerhouse Ichiban Volleyball Club in Long Beach.  His Ichiban team's consistently had top finishes in major events, including a 5th place finish at the USA Volleyball National Championships in Santa Clara.

As Head Coach of the Volleycats Elite Girls Volleyball Program, he led the 16U team to a finishing rank of 41 to finish the SCVA season in division 3 and a silver medal finish in 2016 in an AAU qualifier.  He currently heads the 17U program which is currently ranked 77th in SCVA 18U standings.

As a coach and active member of both USAV and SCVA, Coach Q has a respectable high school and club record.  While coaching the girls' program at Dorsey High school, he was able to create interest in a volleyball program that has berthed four consecutive 1st round playoff appearances in as many years.  In his final year, he led the girls to take the Coliseum League Title which is the first in school history.
During his stay with the reputable Santa Monica Volleyball Club, Coach Q coached both U14 boys' Prime and Premier teams and U16 girls' team.  The boys' Prime team finished 12th in the Southern California Volleyball Association.

The SMVC Boys Prime Team placed in ten (10) out of 10 SCVA tournaments, finishing in first place in five (5) tournaments, finishing in second place, once, and ending up in third and fourth place, twice, respectively.

The SMVC Boys Premier team went on to win two bronze medals; the first in the January 2015 Qualifier #1 in Anaheim, CA and the next at the 2015 USA Boys' Junior National Championships held in Columbus, OH ending the season ranked fourth (4th) both in the nation and region, with a 34-11 record.

The SMVC U16 girls' team placed 1st and 2nd in two SCVA tournaments yet ended the season in the Bronze Bracket with a 5-11 record.

"I learned a lot that year about my coaching style and coach-player relationships. It takes two to tangle. No big "I's" and no little "u's"!

Players have to want it more than the coach and the coach has to want it even more."

Coach Quinton spends a lot of time assisting the USA National Volleyball Programs, as well. Throughout the year, he can be found coaching the USA National A2 Sitting Volleyball Teams in Edmond, OK, as well as, the USA National A2 Select and A3 Youth Programs in both Colorado Springs, CO and Las Vegas, NV.  This year he was invited to train select elite athletes at the Holiday Camp hosted in Tempe, AZ and looks to coach and train the USA Youth Continental Team in Florida.

Borrowing from an endless source of experience, he also finds time to work one-on-one with players looking to modify mechanics and techniques necessary to be premiere volleyball athletes.

Coach Quinton is certified in First Aid/CPR, Sudden Cardiac Arrest, Concussion, and IMPACT.
