Coach Vergnaud comes to Southern Nevada following a three year stint with Colorado Northwestern Community College. Under his leadership with the Spartans, Vergnaud became the most winningest head volleyball coach in school history in total wins, transfer and retention rates, and academic success. Coach Vergnaud was awarded the NJCAA Region XVIII Coach of the Year in 2015.Â
Coach Vergnaud has shown development of players on the court, producing a 98% transfer rate for any student athlete wanting to advance into the NCAA, as well as, numerous Scenic West Athletic Conference All Team members.
Coach Vergnaud demonstrates not only high standards on the court but in the classroom as well. Under his academic philosophy and expectations, his programs have had numerous athletes meet the academic requirements for the NJCAA All-Academic Teams.
Coach Vergnaud has worked alongside one of the most respected women in college volleyball, former U.S. National Team member and Kansas State University stand-out, Kim Whitney, at Pasco Hernando State College (PHSC). At PHSC, Vergnaud was part of Coach Whitney’s coaching staff who led PHSC to an elite 8 finish at the national tournament.
Coach Vergnaud is originally from Florida and has earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Florida Gulf Coast University and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from the American College of Education.
