Wesley Saladino enters his second season as an assistant coach for the College of Southern Nevada volleyball program, bringing a diverse background in competitive volleyball, coaching, education, and athletic administration to the Coyotes.
Saladino began his coaching career at the age of 19 while serving in the United States Marine Corps in Hawaii. During his time in Hawaii, he continued competing in high-level adult volleyball and had the opportunity to play for members of the Velasco family, including Hall of Fame inductee Pete Velasco.
Following his military service, Saladino continued his involvement in volleyball while working as a Corrections Officer with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department. His passion for the sport eventually led to expanded coaching opportunities, including private instruction and work within the club and high school volleyball communities.
After his career in law enforcement, Saladino returned to school and earned an Associate of Arts in Secondary Education from the College of Southern Nevada.
In addition to his role at CSN, Saladino serves as the Athletic Director at Freedom Classical Academy, where he oversees the school's athletic programs. He also remains active in the volleyball community through Prep Dig, assisting with showcase events that provide student-athletes with additional exposure and opportunities to compete at the next level.
Saladino's experience in the military, law enforcement, education, athletic administration, and competitive volleyball provides a well-rounded background that he brings to the development of CSN student-athletes both on and off the court.
