Coyotes fend off Snow College's late push, hold on 8-6

Snow College was never able to get over the hump and overcome its troubles against Coyotes on Saturday, as Snow College fell 8-6 at Ephraim, UT after falling behind by five runs in the fifth inning.

Snow College scored on in the fifth inning and a two-run home run by Kenzie Rasmussen in the seventh inning. Still, Snow College couldn't catch Coyotes.

Rebekka Gross had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. She singled in the third inning and doubled in the first and seventh innings.

Coyotes' Joryan Brewer, Dacia Sykes and Gross combined for six hits and five RBIs.

The game's last lead went to Coyotes thanks to a first inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on two doubles and a sacrifice fly by Sarina Creswell.

Coyotes scored one run in the third inning, and then followed it up with one more in the fourth. In the third, Coyotes scored on an RBI single by Gross, bringing home Creswell.

After pushing across two runs in the bottom of the third, Snow College faced just a 4-2 deficit. A two-run double by Rasmussen triggered Snow College's comeback. Coyotes stopped the rally after Megan Mello got Mariah Petersonto fly out.

One run in the bottom of the fourth helped Snow College close its deficit to 5-3. An RBI single by BritLee Anderson sparked Snow College's rally. Mello ended the inning by getting Karlee Manzione to fly out.

Coyotes increased its lead with three runs in the fifth. Brewer kicked things off with a triple, bringing home Gross and Mello. That was followed up byChelsea Perez's single, plating Brewer.
