Coyotes clenched three out of four games this past weekend at home against conference rivals Badgers.

The College of Southern Nevada Coyotes softball team seems to be getting back their competitive edge, as they come off a successful weekend at home against conference rivals Snow Badgers. The Coyotes clenched three out of four games they played; 5-4 , 2-1 ,4-6 and 14-4.

Las Vegas, NV- It didn't take long for the College Of Southern Nevada Lady Coyotes to put a run on the scoreboard, in the bottom of the 1st inning freshmen Maggie Manwarren scored with the help of her teammate Dacia Sykes when she singled to the left field. The Lady Coyotes went on to score in the 3rd, 4th and 5th inning. At end of the 5th inning the Lady Coyotes led the game 5-0. However, the Coyotes lead decreased in the top of the 6th inning, when Badgers Davis smashed a home run to the left field which triggered her teammates Anderson, and Peterson to clear the base and score a run each. The Coyotes would see the Badgers deliver another a home run in the top of 7th inning but was not enough to get the job done. The game came to a closed with a final score of 5-4 with the Lady Coyotes taking it.

Game two of the series saw a  low scoring game , the final score was 2-1 with the Coyotes taking it. Both freshmen Maggie Manwarren and Dacia Sykes scored in the bottom of the 1st inning, The Badgers earned their run when sophomore infielder Karlee Manzione scored at the top of the 4th inning.

The College of Southern Nevada Lady Coyotes lead the series 2-0 at the end of the first day.

The Lady Coyotes saw their first defeat in the series in another close game, College of Southern Nevada was unable to score consistently throughout the game. After scoring one run in bottom of the 1st inning, the Lady Coyotes went scoreless until the top of 3rd inning when they scored their final three runs. Unlike the Lady Coyotes the Badgers scored consistently throughout the game, scoring from the top of the 2nd inning to the top of the sixth inning. The final score was 4-6 with Snow taking their first victory of the series.

At end of the third game the series was now 2-1 with College Of Southern Nevada still maintaining the leading by one game. The last game decided the faith of both teams, Coyotes needed a win to win the series while the Badgers needed a win to tie the series.

The final game was anticipated to be a close game, but the spectators witness the Lady Coyotes demolish the Badgers in five innings. The Lady Coyotes managed to score 14 runs within five innings!  Six in the 1st inning, 2 in the 2nd inning, and another 6 in the 4th inning.  The Badgers were able to score two runs in the 1st inning and another 2 in the 5th inning. The game came to end due the run rule.The final score was 14-4 , The Coyotes racked up 29-AB, 16-H,13-RBI , 2-BB, 4-SO and 6 – LOB.

The College of Southern Nevada Coyotes softball team now sits in the third place in SWAC (Scenic Western Athletic Conference) Conference behind of College of Southern Idaho, and Salt Lake City Community College with a conference record of 19-9, and a overall record of 27-12.
