Mason Hayes gives Coyotes late push to beat Salt Lake Community College Bruins , 5-4

Mason Hayes drove in the winning run to give Coyotes the lead in the seventh inning, as Coyotes hung on to beat Salt Lake Community College Bruins 5-4 on Friday.

Tyler Brown singled to get on base in the seventh. He then went from second to third.

Coyotes was led by a flawless day at the dish by Hayes, who went 2-2 against Salt Lake Community College Bruins 's pitching.

Coyotes staved off Salt Lake Community College Bruins as Salt Lake was unable to match Coyotes down the stretch.

Despite its efforts, the Bruins couldn't get over the hump.

Kyle Brown got it done on the bump on the way to a win. He tossed three innings of shutout ball. He struck out two, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Jared White was the game's losing pitcher. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked one, struck out one, and allowed two runs.

The top of the first saw Salt Lake Community College Bruins take an early lead, 2-0. Skyler Mahoney doubled to ignite the Bruins 's offense. A groundout by Garrett Bushman then moved Mahoney from second to third. Salt Lake Bruins added more runs when Ovard scored on an error.

Salt Lake matched its one-run third inning with one more in the fourth. In the third, the Bruins scored on an error, plating Austin Ovard.

Coyotes scored three runs of its own in the fourth. Coyotes scored on a two-run home run by Matt Waldren and an RBI triple by Gerald Robins.
