Coyotes starter Kayden Porter doesn't need much run-support when he is on the bump and he showed it on Saturday against Salt Lake Community College Bruins . Six strong innings by Porter spurred Coyotes to a 2-1 victory over Salt Lake Community College Bruins .

Matt Waldren pushed Coyotes ahead, in the eighth inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. With the score tied at one in the eighth inning, Waldren came to the plate and singled, scoring Gerald Robins.

Josh Nuernberg got the win for Coyotes. He pitched two shutout innings. Nuernberg struck out one, walked one and gave up no hits.

Lincoln Clayton took the loss for Salt Lake Community College Bruins . He lasted just 7 2/3 innings, walked four, struck out three, and allowed two runs.

Coyotes closer Alec Hutt put away the final three outs to record the save.

The first inning saw Salt Lake Community College Bruins score its only run on the day on an RBI double by Zac Willis.
