Phil Bickford makes 2 runs hold up for Coyotes in 2-1 win over Western Nevada College

Coyotes didn't provide Phil Bickford with much support, but he didn't need much. Bickford pitched six strong innings to carry Coyotes to a 2-1 win over Western Nevada College on Thursday.

Jose Verdugo pushed Coyotes ahead, in the seventh inning, and the lead lasted until the final out. Mason Hayes singled to get on base in the seventh. He then went from first to second on a stolen base.

Kyle Brown got the win for Coyotes. He tossed one inning of shutout ball. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered one hit.

Max Karnos took the loss for Western Nevada College. He lasted just seven innings, walked one, struck out eight, and allowed two runs.

Coyotes closer Alec Hutt put away the final six outs to record the save.

Western Nevada College managed to score one run in the fifth inning on a solo home run by Dj Peters.

Coyotes went up for the duration of the game after the seventh inning. Additional runs came from a solo home run by Kenny Meimerstorf.
