Box Score A walk-off single from Alec Hutt brought home the winning run for Coyotes in a 5-4 victory over Western Nevada College on Saturday.
Kenny Meimerstorf reached base four times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He doubled in the third inning and singled in the first and seventh innings.
Kayden Porter handled Western Nevada College's lineup with ease, racking up four strikeouts. Coyotes' pitcher tossed five innings of shutout ball and allowed only five hits.
Kyle Brown recorded the win for Coyotes. He allowed one run over two innings. Brown struck out two, walked none and gave up three hits.
Connor Zwetsch was charged with the loss. He lasted two innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed one run.
The bottom of the first saw Coyotes take an early lead, 2-0. Coyotes' offense woke up as Mason Hayes tripled before Meimerstorf singled, bringing home Hayes. More runs came home for Coyotes when Meimerstorf scored on an RBI double by Porter.
Coyotes pushed one run across in each of the third, fourth and ninth. In the third, Coyotes scored on a sacrifice fly by Hayes, plating Tyler Brown.
Coyotes quickly matched Western Nevada College's strong inning with a one-run inning of its own in the ninth. Coyotes scored on an RBI single by Alec Hutt.
