Thirteen hits weren't enough for Coyotes as it lost a shootout, 10-8 in seven innings, to College of Southern Idaho on Thursday.

Home runs for College of Southern Idaho came when Kayla Carter homered in the second inning, Marissa Johnson homered in the fourth inning, and Abby Toller homered in the fourth inning.

Carley White, Johnson and Toller helped lead College of Southern Idaho. They combined for five hits and seven RBIs.

Coyotes jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the top of the second. Coyotes' rally started when Amber Raab singled. The scoreboard lit up again for Coyotes when Raab scored on a wild pitch.

College of Southern Idaho answered Coyotes' top inning with two runs of its own in the second. College of Southern Idaho scored on a solo home run by Carter and an RBI single by White.

Coyotes got one-run rallies in the third inning and the fourth. In the third, Coyotes scored on an RBI single by Raab, bringing home Vanessa Sanders.

College of Southern Idaho quickly matched Coyotes' strong inning with a five-run inning of its own in the fourth. College of Southern Idaho scored on a solo home run by Johnson and a home run by Toller.

Joryan Brewer homered, part of a four-run sixth inning for Coyotes.

College of Southern Idaho never surrendered the lead after the sixth inning, scoring three runs on three singles.
