Box Score By
Devin VirissimoThe third game between the Bruins and the Coyotes started out with a pitcher's duel with
Mikey York getting it done for early and often.Â
York retired every better in a row through 5 innings except for a 2-out walk in the 4
th. York came out of the game after throwing 10 strikeouts and only allowing the one walk.
Todd Danziesen came in for relief and only walked one in his full inning as well.
The Coyotes lead after an RBI double by
Jordan Hand brought around
Jarrett Perns in the 3
rd. Unfortunately for CSN, they left on too many baserunners and could not help out their pitchers with any more run support heading into the 7
th.
Â
Alec Hutt came in to close out the game for the Coyotes. He walked the first batter, struck out the next two, and then allowed the go-ahead run on with another walk.
With two strikes and two outs, a 2-run double into left center gave the lead to the Bruins and eliminated the combined no hitter with the same swing.
Another walk and then the final strikeout from Hutt put the bats back into the Coyotes hands but missed opportunities are too much to overcome and the Bruins take the first game of the double-header 2-1.
The Coyotes will be in Twin Falls, ID next weekend for a four game series against the Golden Eagles of the College of Southern Idaho.
