Henderson, NV – After a thrilling win in game one of the double header, the Coyotes set out to continue their undefeated home record with
Isaiah Blaylock on the hill.
Blaylock started out hot on the hill only allowing one hit in the first two innings.
The bats were alive and well as they lit up the Bruins starting pitcher who also walked two batters in the first and hit another one as well.
Dillon Johnson recorded an RBI when he plated
Justin Lutes as the Coyotes recorded two runs before their first three outs.
In the second,
Nicco Festa was hit by a pitch to lead off the inning.
Jordan Macias then recorded a single before
Christian Maggi walked to load the bases.
Jarrett Perns was then walked to record the Coyotes third run of the game.
The Bruins then went to the bullpen after their starter could only record one full inning.
Lutes then singled down the right field line to plate Macias and Maggi.
Jason Wallace then walked before
Blake Wiggins continued his hot return to the team with a single to plate Lutes.
With a 6-run lead, Blaylock lost a bit of control in the third as he hit two batters and walked one. Thankfully, he only allowed two runs to come around in the third before stifling the Bruins in the fourth and the fifth.
Blaylock would pitch six complete innings, allowing two runs on two hits. He also struck out four and walked two.
The Bruins relief pitcher dialed it in as well and only allowed one unearned run in the sixth when Macias came home during a double play.
Timmy Burtzloff came in relief for Blaylock and truly pitched a gem as he went the final three innings while only allowing two hits, walking two and striking out three.
???????Blaylock and Burtzloff's lights out pitching gave the Coyotes their 35
th win and placed them one more win away from another conference victory.
The Coyotes will take on the Bruins 2 more times tomorrow during Sophomore Day at Lied Field at Morse Stadium.
