Henderson, NV –
Blake Inouye was brought into the game after a wild sequence of events sees the Coyote starter
Todd Danzeisen tossed from the game after 1.1 innings.
At that point, the Spartans were up 4-0 in a win or go home game of the Region 18 tournament.
Inouye commanded the hill from the very first pitch and completely dominated the Spartans. He only allowed four hits, while walking four and hitting one batter in his seven innings of work.
Through the 21 outs Inouye collected, 14 would be strikeouts. Inouye commanded the zone and barely let the Spartans come close to threatening his Coyotes.
The Coyotes would work their way back into the game with a groundout RBI from
Christian Maggi to plate
Jordan Macias in the third.
In the fourth, two lead off walks from
Dillon Johnson and
Jarrett Perns would allow
Cody Milner to sacrifice himself to place them in score position.
Jay Martz would then walk and load the bases for Macias. Macias singled to left center to plate Johnson and Perns.
Maggi then singled up the middle to plate Martz and tie the game.
???????Inouye continued to stifle the Spartans and the Coyotes finally took the lead when
Justin Lutes lead off the seventh with a solo shot over the right center field fence.
Two batters later,
Blake Wiggins would dig a pitch out of the dirt and send it over the left field fence to give the Coyotes a 6-4 lead.
Lutes would also walk in the ninth to become the single season record holder for CSN with 47. (Quinnton Mack-46, 2012)
???????Inouye recorded the first out in the bottom of the ninth (The Coyotes being the away team in this game) before allowing a walk and a single.
Alex Tisminezky would be called upon to collect the final two outs.
???????Tisminezky would strike out the first batter looking and then induce a ground ball to Lutes at first as he went to cover the bag and send the Coyotes to championship Saturday.
The Coyotes will face the Salt Lake Community College Bruins tomorrow at 12 p.m. to keep their season alive.
