The Lady Coyotes hit the road for the Beehive State this past weekend to matchup with the #7 ranked Snow College Badgers in Ephraim, Utah in the team's final regular season test before the 2018 Region XVIII tournament next week in Salt Lake City.
Despite dropping a pair of matches at the "Den" earlier this season to Snow College, the Lady Coyotes had competed favorably in its matches versus the Badgers and Friday afternoon was no different.
Snow jumped ahead early courtesy of a goal in the opening half, but a defensive minded Southern Nevada squad was able to stem the momentum and give itself an opportunity to keep its deficit manageable. That strategy kept CSN close all match and in the 89
th minute star striker Ashley Jordan found the back of the Badgers net, after a perfect feed off the boot of
Brianna Duran. That equalizer leveled the match 1-1 and sent these two SWAC rivals to overtime.
The first OT period was a bit of a feeling out process that saw both teams whiff on opportunities to net the game-winning goal. Tired bodies on both sides were evident as the second overtime period began and it was an opportunistic Badger team who found a way to net the game-winning goal and claim the match 2-1.
The loss dropped Southern Nevada to 1-7-1 in conference and 7-7-1 overall as the team concluded its 2018 regular season.
