Jarod Lessar and Nick Rupp opened up the series and pitched like a pair of aces.

A pitcher's duel broke out in the desert as Rupp and Lessar combined to fire 12.1 innings,  allowing four runs and fanning 13 hitters.

A two-run bomb to left field off the bat of Steven Ortiz in the top of the sixth broke a 1-1 tie and propelled the Eagles to the winner's circle.

Hunter Heugly and Wyatt Featherston provided the only runs batted in of the game for Southern Nevada as they were defeated 5-2 in the weekend opener.
