RENO, Nev. (October 12, 2019) – A losing streak ended for the College of Southern Nevada men's soccer team on Saturday.
Playing at in-state rival Truckee Meadows Community College, the Coyotes earned a 3-2 win in Reno to break a two-match winless streak. The win lifts Southern Nevada's overall record to 7-5-3 and to 2-3-3 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
A scoreless tie ended in the 38
th minute as CSN's Freddy Diaz scored on an assist from Ricky Galvan to give the Coyotes a 1-0 halftime lead. Early in the second half, Southern Nevada stretched the lead to 2-0 as
Chris Stang scored on a Diaz assist.
Truckee Meadows would score two goals in the following minutes to tie the match at 2-2 with just moments left in the match. However,
John Fertitta scored the game-winning goal, scoring in the 80
th minute to give CSN the win.
The Coyotes will return home for their final home stand this weekend. The matches will begin on Thursday as CSN hosts Colorado Northwestern and will conclude with a match against USU Eastern on Saturday.
