HENDERSON, Nev. (October 17, 2019) – The momentum continues to build for the College of Southern Nevada women's soccer team as the season winds down.
The Lady Coyotes got the final weekend of the regular season started well as the team earned a 7-0 victory over the Colorado Northwestern Community College Spartans. The win lifts CSN to 11-4-1 overall and 5-3-1 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
Kayla Meyer scored an early goal, scoring in the 2
nd minute to give CSN an early lead. Sara Marie-Covarrubi followed up minutes later with a goal in the 9
th minute to boost the lead to 2-0. CSN took a 5-0 lead into halftime.
In just a moment,
Nohemi Mendoza scored a goal to open the second half, extending the Southern Nevada lead to the 5-0 in the 56
th minute.
Lianna Soifua scored the final goal, scoring in the 84
th minute.
Mendoza had a monster game statistically, finishing with three assists and a goal. Southern Nevada held a 33-1 advantage in shots and a 22-1 advantage in shots-on-goal.
Southern Nevada will play at 1:00 p.m. in a match against USU Eastern. The team will also celebrate their annual 'Sophomore Day' festivities before the match.
