From the Desk of Dexter Irvin, CSN Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation

CSN Fans and Supporters,

It is with sadness that the College of Southern Nevada Department of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation notes the recent passing of local baseball fixture and former Coyotes coach Tim Chambers. Coach Chambers was one of the pillars in the growth of the CSN Athletic Department we know today, pouring energy and passion for student-athletes into our institution.

The legacy of Coach Chambers will be his contribution to the game of baseball in the Las Vegas Valley, specifically his impact on the College of Southern Nevada's nationally-ranked program. Since he took over the CSN program in 2000, and coached the Coyotes in their first collegiate baseball game, he led the Coyotes to an overall record of (419-195) in his 11 seasons at the helm. In that time, our program won a National Championship in 2003, two Western District Championships, three Region XVIII Championships, and six Scenic West Athletic Conference Championships. His expectation of success laid the groundwork for the success our program continues to enjoy.

Coach Chambers will be remembered for the many student-athletes he helped coach, whether famous for their athletic impacts after leaving CSN or for their personal accomplishments in the communities they've touched. He will always be synonymous with the hard work and dedication that it's taken to build our athletic department into a nationally-respected, locally-relevant program that is serving Southern Nevada's student-athletes and preparing them for brighter futures.

On behalf of the entire CSN family and the Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation Department, I would like to send our condolences to the Chambers family during this difficult time.

Sincerely,

Dexter Irvin
Director of Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation
