HENDERSON, Nev. (October 3, 2019) – The College of Southern Nevada volleyball team suffered a home defeat to a Scenic West Athletic Conference rival Thursday.
The Lady Coyotes fell in a 3-0 (21-25, 26-28, 19-25) loss to the College of Southern Idaho, dropping CSN's overall record to 4-12 on the season. Southern Nevada is 0-2 to start Scenic West play.
The first set was a close back-and-forth affair, with Southern Idaho earning a narrow edge. Then in the second set, the teams went back-and-forth as CSN took a 24-23 lead after an
Olivia Curtis kill. However, CSI came back to take the lead and ultimately earn the set victory. The Golden Eagles pulled away for the win in the third set.
Curtis finished with 12 kills to lead the Lady Coyotes.
Laityn Sarna had a team-high 29 assists and 13 digs.
Riley Froman led the team with 2 aces.
Southern Nevada will face off against No. 9 Salt Lake Community College in a Scenic West match on Saturday at the CSN Sports Center. The match is scheduled to start at 1:00 p.m. and will be the program's annual 'Dig Pink-Side Out Foundation' match.
