Box Score CRAIG, CO. (September 28, 2019) – The College of Southern Nevada women's soccer team broke out of a slump in a big way, earning an impressive road victory in league play Saturday.
Playing at Colorado Northwestern Community College, the Lady Coyotes picked up a 12-0 win over the Spartans, dominating the game in all facets. The victory lifts CSN's overall record to 8-3-1 and a Scenic West Athletic Conference record of 2-2-1.
CSN got on the board in the 4th minute of the match as Nohemi Mendoza continued her hot streak by scoring the go-ahead goal. From there, it was an avalanche of Lady Coyotes scoring as Southern Nevada led 4-0 after a Jessica Carnahan goal in the 20thminute.
After leading 6-0 at halftime, Brooke Haley helped the team with her first of two goals. Carnahan scored the goal in the 70thminute that lifted CSN to double figures while Kayla Meyer scored the final goal.
Southern Nevada finished with a 41-1 advantage in shots, with Larina Ibarra clinching the shutout defensively on the goal. Mendoza finished with a team-high 3 goals, scoring the opening trio of goals in the match.Â
The Lady Coyotes will continue their road trip next weekend in the Scenic West, traveling to play at Snow College on Saturday, October 5. CSN's next home match is scheduled for Oct. 17 against Colorado Northwestern
