HENDERSON, Nev. (November 6, 2021) – Just a couple games into the season, the College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball program looks impressive.
CSN earned a strong 82-63 win over Phoenix College in the 'Silver State Schools Credit Union Basketball Invitational', taking a controlling 49-28 halftime lead and never looking back. The victory propels the Lady Coyotes to 2-0 on the young season.
Defense helped provide the boost for CSN in the win, with the Lady Coyotes limiting Phoenix College to just 29.6 percent shooting in the win (21-of-71). Southern Nevada also forced 20 Phoenix turnovers. On the other side, CSN shot 66.67 percent (10-of-15) in the first quarter to set an early tone.
Destiny Brown led Southern Nevada with 15 points on an efficient 6-of-7 shooting, while
Samantha Greene scored 14 points.
Sharmayne Finley was another double-digit scorer, finishing with 11 points.
CSN will close the tournament with a 3:00 p.m. game against South Mountain Community College.
