NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (December 1, 2021) -There were many adjectives to describe Wednesday's Scenic West Athletic Conference opener for the College of Southern Nevada Men's Basketball team.

An apt one to settle on would be 'impressive', as the Coyotes rolled to an 89-67 win over Community Christian College to open the league season. The victory lifts Southern Nevada to 5-4 overall, with a mark of 1-0 in Scenic West games.

CSN took a 41-34 halftime lead, powering to the lead thanks to shooting 52.94 percent (18-of-34) and limiting Community Christian to just 3-of-11 from three-point range. Defense played a strong role in the Southern Nevada victory, with the Coyotes scoring 29 points-off-turnovers and also posting 52 points in the paint.

Darren Jones had a dominant performance to open league play individually, scoring 22 points on 11-of-14 shooting.
Kendrick Gilbert posted 14 points off the bench, going 7-of-8 from the free-throw line.
Dominique Ford scored 12 points in the win.
