LAS VEGAS, Nev. (December 16, 2021) – The College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball team lost in a Scenic West Athletic Conference home game against a strong opponent Thursday.
CSN opened a rare four-game week at home, hosting a Scenic West game with the College of Southern Idaho. The Lady Coyotes lost a 63-49 decision to CSI at Democracy Prep, falling to 6-7 overall and 2-3 in Scenic West contests.
Both teams went back-and-forth in momentum and leads throughout the game, with the game featuring three lead changes. Southern Idaho took the lead early and never looked back, albeit with very little space in between. CSI held a 23-18 halftime lead, taking a 42-34 lead into the final quarter. Turnovers proved to be a determining statistic against the Lady Coyotes, with CSN committing 29 turnovers in the loss.
Sharmayne Finley led the Lady Coyotes with 11 points, while
Destiny Brown had a double-double of 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Tyra Perkins and Avauna Scott both finished with 9 points.
Southern Nevada will resume non-conference play Sunday, hosting nationally-ranked Central Arizona to open the annual 'CSN Holiday Tournament'.
