NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (December 19, 2021) – The College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball team lost in the opening game of a holiday tournament Sunday.
Hosting the opening day of the 'CSN Holiday Tournament', CSN dropped an 83-74 decision to Central Arizona College, falling behind at halftime and never recovering. With the loss, CSN is now 6-8 overall.
The Lady Coyotes struggled offensively early, falling behind at halftime, 44-29. CSN outscored Central Arizona in the fourth quarter, 20-14, but it was too late to overcome the deficit. Southern Nevada shot just 21.4 percent in the first quarter, going just 3-of-14 from the field.
In spite of the loss,
Destiny Brown had a monster performance for the Lady Coyotes, finishing with 20 points and 16 rebounds.
Sharmayne Finley posted 14 points, while
Ayauna Scott had 20 points off the bench for Southern Nevada.
CSN will host the Southern Utah All-Stars on Monday in the 'CSN Holiday Tournament'. The game will be played at 4:30 p.m. inside the CSN Sports Center in North Las Vegas.
