NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (December 20, 2021) – The College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball team suffered a tough result in day-two action of the 'CSN Holiday Classic' Monday.
Hosting games at the CSN Sports Center in North Las Vegas, Southern Nevada dropped a 77-63 decision to the Southern Utah All-Stars, falling to the club program after getting outscored 20-8 in the third quarter. The Lady Coyotes are now 6-8 overall with the loss.
Southern Utah was strong offensively in the early going, taking a 34-17 lead after the opening quarter. CSN responded well in the second quarter, outscoring Southern Utah by a margin of 22-7 to trail narrowly at halftime, 41-39. However, Southern Utah took control in the third quarter and never looked back. Overall, CSN shot just 30.1 percent from the field (25-of-83), going just 7-of-24 from three-point range.
Tyra Perkins led Southern Nevada with 10 points, while
Sharmayne Finley and
Samantha Greene both scored 9 points apiece.
Destiny Brown posted 7 points and 14 rebounds.
Southern Nevada will close the tournament Tuesday, facing Casper College at 4:30 p.m. inside the CSN Sports Center.
