NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (December 4, 2021) – A home game ended in an impressive victory for the College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball team Saturday.
CSN moved to 2-0 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play with a strong home win over Colorado Northwestern Community College, rolling to a 73-46 win. The victory lifts CSN to 6-4 overall.
The Coyotes held a narrow 16-13 lead over CNCC after the first quarter, turning on the defensive pressure in the second quarter by outscoring the Lady Spartans, 19-8, to take a 35-21 halftime lead. Southern Nevada suffocated CNCC defensively, holding the Lady Spartans to just 18.1 percent shooting for the game and forcing 9 turnovers. CSN also outrebounded CNCC, 70-58.
Samantha Greene led the Lady Coyotes with a double-double, scoring 20 points and posting 12 rebounds in the win. Sharmayne Finely finished with 10 points, while
Destiny Brown and
Ayauna Scott both scored 8 points.
CSN will host Salt Lake Community College on Wednesday at Democracy Prep. The game will be played at 6:00 p.m.
