HENDERSON, Nev. (February 8, 2021) – A busy week of games lies ahead for the College of Southern Nevada Athletic Department, with two CSN programs playing their inaugural contests.
CSN will play its first men's-and-women's basketball games this week, with the Coyotes and Lady Coyotes traveling to open Scenic West Athletic Conference play at Snow College, Southern Idaho and Salt Lake. Additionally, CSN's baseball program will play a series of non-conference games against Colorado Northwestern Community College and will travel to Tuscon in a four game series with Pima CC .

Baseball: After losing a weekend series at Pima Community College last weekend, the No. 20 Coyotes are back in action at Morse Stadium, hosting a four-game non-conference series against Colorado Northwestern Community College, along with adding a weekend series at Pima.
The Coyotes opened the season going 3-1, earning a trio of non-conference wins against Scenic West Athletic Conference foes. Southern Nevada is still nationally ranked after the week, holding steady at No. 20 in the NJCAA polls. This weekend's games will be played at Morse Stadium, with doubleheaders scheduled for

Nick Garritano said his team is eager to return to the field.
"Getting back on the field and playing is very exciting for us," said Garritano. "We had our series with Pima pushed back to this coming weekend and now will play CNCC in a very rare Monday through Wednesday, four-game series. Staying adaptable and patient will definitely be a huge key for success this year due to possible cancellations and changes to the schedule. We hope to get better in all three phases of the game this week. We will play eight games in six days so our work is definitely cut out for us."
Men's Basketball: CSN Men's Basketball will take the floor for the program's debut this week, playing three Scenic West Athletic Conference games.
The Coyotes will start the week with a game on Tuesday at Snow College, followed by a Thursday game at Southern Idaho and a Saturday game at Salt Lake Community College. All three programs have a history of national success, with SLCC being ranked at No. 3 in the rankings.

Russ Beck said his team is excited to open the season.
"We're just looking forward to the entire experience; taking these guys on the road, our team growing together and the opportunity to see these different teams at venues," he said. "Having coached in the conference for a long time, I'm familiar with these cities and these teams and the prestige of their programs, so we're just looking for the first step on our journey here at CSN."
Women's Basketball: The CSN Women's Basketball program is also making its first appearance as a program Tuesday, starting off a game against Snow College.
CSN will play three teams who are either receiving national votes or are nationally ranked during the next week, with CSN facing No. 15 Southern Idaho on Thursday and No. 14 Salt Lake on Saturday. SLCC is the defending Region 18 championship.
