HENDERSON, Nev. (April 28, 2021) – The College of Southern Nevada Athletic Department will host its nationally-ranked baseball program this week, with the Coyotes seeing four sports playing games across the western United States.
The No. 18 CSN baseball team will host USU Eastern in a four-game series at Morse Stadium this weekend, beginning on Thursday. CSN's soccer programs will take to the road, while the CSN softball program will travel to play at USU Eastern.

Baseball: The No. 18 Coyotes will look to maintain pace with Scenic West-leading Salt Lake this weekend, facing off in a four-game series with USU Eastern.
Southern Nevada pulled off a four-game sweep over Colorado Northwestern last week, with the Coyotes hosting their final two regular-season series at home. CSN sits at 17-6 in league standings, good for a winning percentage of .739, while SLCC's winning percentage is .750.
With the league's arduous travel in mind, CSN coach
Nick Garritano said his team is aware of the benefits of finishing the regular-season at home.
"The travel is the toughest part of SWAC play," he said. "We have the toughest travel in the league as we are the furthest west. Our closest trip on the bus is a minimum of 6.5 hours, and our furthest is 10 hours. There are teams in the league that are 1.5 hours away from an opponent and 6.5 hours is their longest trip."
Men's Soccer: CSN will have a tall-task during the week, with the Coyotes traveling to play a nationally-ranked opponent and an in-state rival.
Southern Nevada will face off against No. 3 Salt Lake on Thursday, then traveling west to play at Truckee Meadows. CSN is 0-2 against the opponents this season.
Softball: Fresh off a four-game sweep of Colorado Northwestern at home, the Lady Coyotes will take to the road for a four-game road series.
CSN will play USU Eastern, playing doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday in Price, Utah. Southern Nevada went 3-1 against USU Eastern at home, with this weekend's games having added importance as CSN is tied for second-place in the SWAC standings.
The continued rigor of Scenic West competition is an added challenge and benefit of playing in the league, according to Lady Coyotes coach
Ashley Johnston.
"The hardest part for me with conference play is this year we are all so competitive," she said. "CSI, CSN, Snow and USU Eastern are only separated by a few games, so you really can't have a bad weekend or teams will pass you in the standings. This is a very exciting and competitive conference and blessed to be able to coach in it."
Women's Soccer: CSN will play a pair of games on the road, playing nationally-ranked Salt Lake and Truckee Meadows.
The week's matches will start with a Salt Lake date on Thursday, with travel across the Silver State for a match with in-state rival Truckee Meadows on Saturday. CSN downed Truckee Meadows in their first matchup to open Scenic West play.
"I'm traveling three weeks in a row, and two of those trips being four-day stretches, is the hardest part of Scenic West play," said Lady Coyotes coach
Jocelyn Roach. "I am eager to see how my team performs going into the third week of travel."
