Baseball: After a tough home series against Salt Lake, the No. 16 Coyotes will head out on the road for a matchup with the College of Southern Idaho.

Southern Nevada will open the four-game series on Thursday, with a doubleheader scheduled for Friday and a single game on Saturday. CSN went 3-1 against CSI in early March.

Coyotes coach Nick Garritano said his team is excited for what is to come this week.

"We finished the first half of SWAC play with a 1.5-game lead," he said. "We really had a rough weekend against a very solid Salt Lake team. This past weekend has really opened up the door for three teams to win the league.

"It is going to be tough as we will be on the road for three of the four remaining SWAC series. This week in Twin Falls, Idaho will be a huge test for our club as CSI is coming off a four-game sweep of USU and plays extremely well at home."

Men's Soccer: CSN went 0-2 in the opening weekend of play, and will now turn its sights towards Scenic West games beginning this week.

Southern Nevada will host in-state rival Truckee Meadows Community College on Thursday, with a match against No. 4 Salt Lake Community College on Saturday. CSN lost both matches last weekend in overtime.

Coyotes coach Yancey Tisdale said his team is eagerly anticipating the start of Scenic West play.

"We are very confident going into conference play," he said. "We had two very high pace non-conference games that were extremely competitive. Although we were on the losing side of both overtime games, our guys are optimistic and know that in conference play it's not enough to just play well but we must have the result as well.  We all know the importance of starting off on the right foot and we plan to do so this week against Truckee Meadows."

Softball: The Lady Coyotes pulled off a titanic upset last weekend, downing No. 1 Salt Lake and handing the Bruins their first loss of the season.

Fresh off that high, CSN will return home to host Southern Idaho in a four-game series at Lady Coyote Softball Field. The program will play doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday, after going 0-4 against Southern Idaho in their first series earlier this season.

Southern Nevada coach Ashley Johnston said her program is full of momentum after last weekend.

"I believe we are in a great position entering the second round of conference," she said. We finished the first round with a .500 record, and we had a great win against the No. 1 team in the country this past weekend, so we are definitely going into round two with some momentum. Our offense is continuing to swing the bat hard and put up big numbers for this team, so we are looking forward to seeing them transfer that success into the second half of SWAC play."

Women's Soccer: CSN took a pair of 1-0 losses to start the season and will now recenter in anticipation of the start of Scenic West Athletic Conference play.

The Lady Coyotes will host Truckee Meadows and No. 8 Salt Lake at Heritage Park on Thursday and Saturday to open SWAC play. CSN will spend a month on the road after the SLCC match Saturday.

Southern Nevada coach Jocelyn Roach noted her team is still find their rhythm entering the league season.

"After the past opening weekend, we are feeling a little anxious," she said. "Those games weren't the outcomes we wanted going into conference play, although we saw a lot of great things we hope to improve during the first week of conference play."
