HENDERSON, Nev. (July 28, 2021) – Few players have owned a baseball field for the College of Southern Nevada like
Damiano Palmegiani did in the 2021 season.
The Canadian native earned NJCAA All-America First-Team recognition, thanks to a team-high batting average of .389 and a Region 18 Player-of-the-Year award. The awards still keep on rolling in for Palmegiani, with the Cal State Northridge transfer also earned NJCAA All-Academic recognition for his outstanding performance in the classroom.
CSN coach
Nick Garritano said Palmegiani's success is indicative of his focused approach in all that he does.
"His work ethic was second-to-none and he reaped the rewards from it," said Garritano. "He was the model for our baseball team as he made a 4.0 GPA and First Team All-American."
Palmegiani is the first player in Garritano's esteemed career as CSN skipper that was named to All-America teams for both on-field play and academics.
Southern Nevada finished the 2021 season at 46-17, earning the Region 18 tournament crown. The Coyotes also advanced to the NJCAA West Region tournament.
