HENDERSON, Nev. (August 22, 2021) – An early lead did not hold up for the College of Southern Nevada men's soccer team in their home opener.
CSN dropped a 5-2 decision to Arizona Western College Sunday, surrendering a pair of leads in the match. Southern Nevada is now 0-2 with the loss.
Christopher Bramasco put the Coyotes on the board in the first half, scoring on a
Jose Gonzalez assist to give CSN a 1-0 lead in the 24
th minute. After Arizona Western scored a goal to send the match to a 1-1 tie at halftime,
Juan Leon scored in the 58
th minute on an unassisted goal to give CSN a 2-1 advantage. Unfortunately, Arizona Western scored four unanswered goals to put the match out of reach.
CSN held an advantage in overall shots (16-10) and shots-on-goal (15-9). Coyotes goalie
Ivan Rodriguez posted three saves in the loss.
Southern Nevada will host a scrimmage against Park University on Saturday at Cristo Rey St. Viator in North Las Vegas.
