NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (January 15, 2022) – The friendly confines of the CSN Sports Center paid dividends for the College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball team.
CSN earned a 57-49 win over USU Eastern Saturday, rebounding from a close loss Thursday to finish the week at 1-1. Southern Nevada is now 8-12 overall with the win, boasting a record of 3-5 in Scenic West play.
The Lady Coyotes took control early in the game, posting a 34-23 halftime lead. USU Eastern played strong in the third quarter take the score to 44-42 entering the fourth quarter but the Lady Coyotes limited USU Eastern to just 3-of-18 shooting in the final period to close out the win. Defense played a strong role in the CSN win as the Lady Coyotes forced 19 turnovers and held USU Eastern to just 29.7 percent shooting.
Destiny Brown led Southern Nevada with a double-double of 23 points and 19 rebounds, while
Sharmayne Finley scored 21 points. Brown and Finley combined for 44 of CSN's 57 points.
Southern Nevada will host Salt Lake Community College on Wednesday.
