HENDERSON, Nev. (January 22, 2022) – The adversity of long travel did little to deter the College of Southern Nevada Women's Basketball team in a Scenic West Athletic Conference road game Saturday.
CSN picked up an 86-50 win over Colorado Northwestern Community College Saturday, starting well offensively and never looking back. The Lady Coyotes are now 9-13 overall with the win, alongside a mark of 4-6 in Scenic West play.
Southern Nevada played well to start the game, taking a 36-26 lead at halftime. However, the Lady Coyotes made their mark in the third quarter, outscoring CNCC 28-14 on 54.5 percent shooting in the quarter. CSN's defense also paid dividends, with the Lady Spartans shooting just 24.7 percent in the loss and only going 5-of-31 from three-point range.
Destiny Brown posted a dominant performance to lead the Lady Coyotes, scoring 31 points on 13-of-16 shooting and also finishing with 18 rebounds.
Sharmayne Finley posted 20 points, while
Samantha Greene had 13 points.
Southern Nevada will travel to play at No. 23 Salt Lake next Thursday.
